This role is especially important in rapidly growing urban areas like the Perth Metropolitan Region. Perth’s population is expected to increase by about 40 percent, or more than half a million people, in the next 25 years.
And that inevitably puts major pressures on remaining undeveloped areas in what is one of the world’s most biodiverse cities.
