New South Wales Joint Steering Committee
A joint Australian and New South Wales Government Steering Committee (Joint Steering Committee) has been established to oversee the delivery of the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality (NAP) and the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) in New South Wales.
Role
The Role of the Steering Committee includes:
- developing principles and criteria to guide NAP and NHT investments;
- making recommendations to Australian and New South Wales Governments on accreditation of Natural Resource Management Plans for NAP and NHT investments;
- making recommendations to Ministers on NAP and NHT investments;
- approving release of funds for investments; and
- reporting annually to Ministers on NAP and NHT funded activities.

The Committee meets at least quarterly and more often as required.
