Performance Story Report Project
In 2007-08, the Australian Government used performance story reports (PSRs) as a way of evaluating biophysical, capacity building and societal outcomes for natural resource management (NRM) activities and projects.
A PSR provided an evidence-based statement about progress towards an NRM goal or target for an asset. The report is supported by multiple lines of quantitative and qualitative evidence, including monitoring data on asset state and trends at each level of outcome identified in the program logic.
A PSR summarises one aspect of an NRM program, initiative or plan. In addition to explaining what a program has achieved, it describes the causal links that show how the achievements were accomplished.
Thirteen PSRs were produced across Australia and involved around 1000 people including consultants, project managers (national, state and regional), project participants, observers and Australian Government staff.
