Moreton Bay Catchments

The Moreton sub-region comprises the Lower Brisbane, Caboolture and Pine River catchments and the streams of the Pumicestone and Redlands catchments.

The Moreton Bay Ramsar site provides breeding and feeding grounds for dugongs, turtles and migratory wading birds.

Point and diffuse source pollution from rapid urban and peri-urban expansion. Increased nutrients in the waterways contribute to Coastal Algal Blooms.
