Caring for our Country Business Plan 2010-11

About the Business Plan 2010-11

Caring for our Country is an Australian Government initiative that seeks to achieve an environment that is healthy, better protected, well managed and resilient, and provides essential ecosystem services in a changing climate.

The current business plan sets out the targets for investment in 2010-11 and following years to ensure we stay on track to achieving the government's five-year Caring for our Country outcomes.

The business plan provides guidance to potential applicants on the types of proposals which the Australian Government is seeking to fund to address these targets.

Six national priorities

The 2010-11 Caring for our Country business plan sets out the priorities for investment in 2010-11 and the following years to ensure we stay on track to achieving the Australian Government's five year Caring for our Country outcomes. These targets are aligned to deliver outcomes against the six national priority areas.

How to apply

Well-planned proposals increase your likelihood of success. The Caring for our Country Business Plan 2010-11 provides you with all the information you need to begin planning your project now. The online application form will be available from the second week of January 2010.

Eligibility

Caring for our Country is available to legal entities for work that will contribute to achieving one or more of the Caring for our Country targets. Please read the eligibility criteria and ineligible activities before preparing your proposal.

Assessment Process

The contributions which proposals can make to the Caring for our Country targets set out in this business plan form a very important part of the assessment of these proposals.

A number of investment principles will be considered when the Australian Government is undertaking the assessment of proposals for Caring for our Country investment.

Regional baseline funding

The Australian Government remains committed to providing the identified regional organisations in the 56 natural resource management (NRM) regions with secure base-level funding until 2012-13.
